AutoInsulate

Define insulation rules once and apply them consistently across pipe, duct, and duct-liner systems in Revit.

Overview

AutoInsulate helps Revit MEP teams replace repetitive manual insulation work with a more controlled, repeatable workflow. Users can define reusable rules by system type and size range, add exceptions where needed, and apply those rules to the current selection, active view, or full model.

Rules are stored in the Revit model, which makes project-specific setup easier to maintain and reuse.

What It Does

Rule-based assignment

Create reusable insulation rules based on domain, system type, and size range.

Exception handling

Add prioritized exceptions for special cases and project-specific logic.

Flexible application

Apply insulation to the current selection, the active view, or the full model.

Reusable settings

Save and reuse insulation settings across projects and teams with JSON import and export.

How Teams Use It

  • Apply rules to the right scope for each task
  • Reuse settings across projects with shared rule files
